Privacy Policy

We only collect what you choose to submit through a form on this site. Our newsletter signup asks for your first name, last name, and email address. Our contact and program forms may ask for your name, email, phone number, organization or school, role, and whatever you write in open response fields. This includes the contact form, communications requests, Summit registration and vendor forms, session proposals, scholarship applications, award nominations, and report downloads.

Some forms let you nominate another person, which means submitting their name, role, organization, and contact details. If you nominate someone, please make sure they are comfortable with you sharing their information. We do not ask for financial account details on this site; donations are handled by a third-party donation platform under its own privacy policy.

Our website host logs standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, in order to serve and secure the site. Our forms are protected by a bot-detection service that checks whether a submission is automated. We use analytics tools to understand, in aggregate, which pages and resources people find useful. Some pages embed video or content from third parties such as YouTube, and those providers may set their own cookies and collect data when the embed loads, under their own policies.

We use the information you give us to send the newsletter and program updates you asked for, to respond to your message, request, application, or nomination, to run our programs and events including the Latine Education Summit, to understand in aggregate which parts of the site are useful, and to keep the site secure and working.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We share it with service providers who process it on our behalf: Webflow for website hosting and form submission storage, Zapier for moving newsletter signups from the website to our email platform, Mailchimp for email list management and delivery, and Cloudflare for bot protection on forms. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our community.

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also email info@latinxed.org and we will remove you. Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not remove information you submitted through other forms.

We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and as long as required for our records and legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we remove or archive it.

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it where we are not required to keep it, or stop sending you email. Email info@latinxed.org and we will respond. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the General Data Protection Regulation.

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through it. Some of our programs serve students under 18. Where a program involves collecting a minor's information, we handle that through the program directly and with appropriate consent, not through this website.

We use reputable service providers and reasonable safeguards to protect the information you share with us. No website or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the last updated date at the top of this page, and we will note material changes here.
